LGBTIQA+ Pride Masterclass

How to cultivate psychological safety and genuine belonging for your LGBTIQA+ colleagues through the practice of active allyship.

R29,500

90 - 120 Minutes Virtual

Description

We recognise that the landscape of LGBTIQA+ inclusion can often feel sensitive or overwhelming, which is why this masterclass is intentionally designed with patience, understanding, and kindness at its core. We move the conversation out of the realm of "political correctness" and into the lived reality of workplace belonging, providing a safe space to ask tough questions and build foundational confidence. Whether we are unpacking the acronym for the first time or leveling up your leadership advocacy, this experience uses cinematic storytelling and expert guidance to turn "the monster" of bias and exclusion into a roadmap for active allyship.

Outline

  • We begin with a check in and the creation of a safe(r) learning environment. We continue with demystifying the LGBTIQA+ acronym to build a shared language and understanding for the session.

  • To understand the call for inclusion, we need to understand the history of exclusion. We explore why LGBTIQA+ inclusion remains a critical strategic priority today, regardless of the fact that the community has access to more rights than ever.

  • A first-of-its-kind documentary screening that immerses you in South African queer spaces to hear real stories and expert opinions on the necessity of workplace safety.

  • A practical breakdown of the specific behaviours and daily actions required to move from passive support to being an active, visible ally at work.

  • A tactical guide on how to hold others accountable respectfully and how to authentically apologise when (not if) we get things wrong.

  • The session concludes with a toolkit of inclusive language and a guided reflection to turn your new insights into immediate workplace habits.

FAQs

  • This session is primarily pitched at a beginner to intermediate level to ensure all participants build a solid, shared foundation of language and understanding. However, because we prioritise impact over a "one-size-fits-all" approach, the depth and nuance of the content can be tailored to meet the specific needs, seniority, and DEI maturity of your cohort.

  • We are platform-agnostic (Zoom, Teams, etc.) and can use our tech or yours.

  • To protect the psychological safety of our participants and encourage real engagement, we do not allow sessions to be recorded. This ensures that every conversation stays within the room, allowing your people to engage authentically without fear of being captured on camera.

  • We recommend a maximum of 25 participants to maintain the psychological safety and intimacy required for deep peer-to-peer discussion, but we can increase to 50 to stay in budget.

  • Yes, we align our core frameworks with your internal organisational values and specific goals to ensure the training feels relevant and integrated.

  • We offer a dual-layered measurement approach using our WhatsApp Advisor for immediate feedback and Executive Summaries to track shifts in leadership sentiment.

  • While our standard delivery is virtual, we can offer bespoke in-person experiences upon special request.

  • While tailored for managers and senior leaders, these workshops are equally effective for intact teams, HR teams and specialised cohorts like ERG committees seeking to deepen their strategic impact.

  • Absolutely; this masterclass is a judgment-free zone designed specifically to help you build that foundational language from scratch.

  • Because real stories drive real empathy; seeing the intersection of local culture and global identity provides a unique depth that generic training lacks.
