Description

For too long, neurological differences have been framed as "deficits" or something to be "cured". This 60-minute awareness session shifts the narrative from "broken" to "different". We explore the fundamental concepts of neurodiversity, recognising that there is no one "right" way for a brain to function. By understanding the barriers that prevent disclosure and the stigma that often attaches to conditions like ADHD, Autism, and Dyslexia, among others, we empower your team to move past misconceptions. We look at the practical side of "reasonable accommodation" and show how small adjustments can unlock massive opportunities for innovation, creativity, and team performance. This isn’t about being "nice"; it’s about becoming a confident, caring and high-performing organisation that values every mind.

Learning Outcomes

Understand Terms Relating to Neurodiversity

Gain a clear understanding of the correct terminology and the different ways neurodivergence manifests in the professional environment.

Identify and Dismantle Stigma

Recognise the unconscious biases that prevent neurodivergent colleagues from thriving and learn how to challenge stigmas.

Understand Reasonable Accommodation

Learn how to implement simple, practical adjustments that level the playing field for all cognitive styles.

Unlock Team Potential

Identify the specific opportunities and strengths that neurodivergent thinking brings to innovation, problem-solving, and team effectiveness.

Outline

  • A clear definition of neurodiversity (the group) vs. neurodivergent (the individual), stripping away the medical jargon to find the human reality.

  • We address the common myths and stigmas that make neurodivergent people feel "less than" and how this negatively impacts workplace culture.

  • Why do people hide their neurodivergence? We explore the fear of being labelled "difficult" and how to build a culture where disclosure feels safe.

  • We break down what "reasonable accommodation" actually means. Hint: It’s usually small, low-cost shifts like noise-cancelling headphones, flexible deadlines, or written instructions.

  • Identifying the unique strengths, such as pattern recognition, hyper-focus, and "out-of-the-box" thinking, that neurodivergent individuals bring to a team.

  • We wrap up with a Q&A engagement session with final reflections on moving from "tolerance" to genuine inclusion.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our virtual format is designed to scale; we've successfully hosted groups from 20 to 2,000.

  • No. Neurodiversity includes everyone. Neurodivergence is the "umbrella" that covers Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and many other ways the brain processes information.

  • Absolutely. While the core frameworks of neurodiversity literacy are consistent, the session is flexible enough to be tailored to your organisation's specific language, internal policies, and current cultural challenges. We ensure the conversation feels like a natural extension of your existing team culture.

  • We are platform-agnostic (Zoom, Teams, etc.) and can use our meeting platform or yours.

  • To protect the psychological safety of our participants and encourage real engagement, we do not allow sessions to be recorded. This ensures that every conversation stays within the room, allowing your people to engage authentically without fear of being captured on camera.

  • Because if a person doesn't feel safe to say "I process information better in writing," they spend all their energy trying to "mask" as typical, which leads to burnout and lost performance.

  • We offer two ways to measure the impact of your Awareness Session. Users scan a QR code that opens our WhatsApp bot on their devices for quick survey feedback. Or we can provide you with a pre-designed survey link to distribute via email (or other internal channel).

  • Almost never. Most neurodivergent employees just need small changes in how tasks are communicated or how their environment is managed to perform at a high level.

  • Yes, absolutely. We can expand any session into a 90 or 120-minute Masterclass. This extended format shifts the focus to practical tools, real-world scenarios, and concrete solutions.
